My first dragonfly and damselfly for the year on Fenn’s and Whixall Mosses NNR, with this Four-spotted Chaser and Large Red Damselfly enjoying the sunshine! Can’t wait to see more :)

The emerging White-faced Darter dragonfly on Whixall Moss NNR today. Bear in mind the emergence was on the opposite side of the pool, so these are big crops.

As a BTO Youth Representative it was brilliant to join the Shropshire Hills AONB Young Rangers in the maintenance and installation of new nest boxes! Brilliant to talk about opportunities like the Nest Record Scheme with the group and spend a morning in the great outdoors.

Bumped into a little colony of Brown Hairstreak today on one of my local patches - my first proper, good views of these this year.
