Due to weather conditions all Woodbury County Offices will be closing today at 2:00pm. Please use caution as road conditions are slick and visibility continues to be an issue due to blowing snow.

I-29 south is closed at the Sgt. Bluff exit and I-29 north is closed at the Sloan exit. This closure is due to an accident at mile marker #136 involving a cattle hauler. Dozens of cattle are on the roadway and are being rounded up. We are working extremely hard to get it open.

As moisture continues to fall and temperatures drop the road conditions are getting worse. DOT trucks are out working to get salt and sand down, but please slow down and allow extra time to get to your destination.

Update from Sgt. Sands at 8:00pm “Travel NOT ADVISED. County roads are experiencing widespread drifting due to high winds. Some may become impassable as more snow accumulates. State plow trucks are out on the state roadways but are struggling to keep up due to high winds.”
