Thanks Feargal Sharkey for highlighting our letter to Ofwat about the lack of internal audit at water firms. Although some comments confuse internal & external audit. External audit only looks at financial reports, internal audit looks at broader risks & internal controls. 👍📢

Internal Audit is a critical function that identifies an organisation’s risks and provides independent and objective assurance to the Board through the Audit Committee. There’s a statutory requirement to have this capability in FS sector, but it’s not mandatory for others.
