When subtracting from a number that ends with a lot of zeros, consider subtracting 1 from both numbers so we don't have to "borrow" several times.

How can we visually show why something like sqrt(90)=3sqrt(10)? Rewriting square roots can be seen visually! (I know the title doesn't sound appealing but I honestly really like the concept lol)
