"Today’s sentencing of Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty's Farid Mehralizada to nine years in prison is a travesty of justice," said Sen. Jeanne Shaheen. "I urge Department of State to make clear to authorities in Baku that journalism is not a crime. Farid must not be separated from his family any longer."
