Following F1’s ‘let’s just decide the championship in the final lap’, should parkrun follow suit and insist everyone goes at the same pace as the tail walker until the last 100 metres before a big sprint finish? parkrun UK
This was a great memory for us, on the 125 year birthday of Northampton Town FC, happy birthday to our local club, a real asset to the community and thank you for the fantastic support you’ve provided to my son Jake at a time when he really needed it. Northampton Town
Today’s parkrun, the ‘Q’ in my A to Z. Queen Elizabeth country park, proper hilly parkrun, now just need my V, Y, Z for the full set. parkrun UK
Oh, what’s occurring? Guiding Sofie dressed as Spider-Man = ‘spider guider’ Barry Island parkrun parkrun UK
Great visit to Maidenhead parkrun today - flat course with plenty of shade in the woods, perfect for these warm days. One of my fastest for a while but still 2 mins slower than my pb. #parkrun #maidenhead
Penultimate letter in my parkrun UK A to Z today at York parkrun. Looking forward to Zuiderpark in 3 weeks. Today’s highlight was being overtaken by a juggler! Good luck to him as he juggles his way round Mizuno Endure24 this weekend - as if running on it’s own isn’t hard enough!
Change of volunteering venue today - Northampton Racecourse Junior parkrun, followed by a few shady miles afterwards #NorthamptonRacecourseJuniorParkrun junior parkrun UK
Wollaton Hall parkrun with Neil Byford for a guiding meet up to celebrate Agata’s 100th parkrun today. Great speech by Agata’s mum, telling us how desperate Agata was to run when she was younger and how running has become such an important part of Agata’s life. parkrun UK
Church Mead parkrun - today was my 200th run, 200th volunteer (report writer) and 100th different event. This was my 2022 parkrun target - to hit all 3 on the same day. Great to have had one that didn’t involve PBs! parkrun UK
How good is it that the government declare a bank holiday to celebrate Northampton Town getting promoted? Jake Sharpe
Today’s antisocial behaviour award goes to Thames Water 💧 for using mechanical diggers outside my house until midnight last night, starting again at 5am. Unbelievable that this was scheduled maintenance as opposed to reacting to a leak / emergency work. 🤷🏼♂️
I am so proud of my son Jake Elliott to be part of the Air Ambulance’s 50,000th mission celebrations via his interview below and so grateful to the Air Ambulance for their incredibly speedy response in most likely saving his life on that day in 2019. Forever in your debt.
Congratulations to Jake Elliott, 5 years after suffering a brain injury as a passenger in a car accident, he’s passed his driving test! We never thought we’d see this day, super proud of our boy - he never gave up hope! BBC Northamptonshire
6 years today since Jake Elliott accident and as it’s match day we will be at Northampton Town, the team that not only Jake supports but who supported him from the early days of his accident. They’ve both had a few ups and downs but are in a much better place than in 2019. Northampton Town
