Thank you to our merry elves, the Planning, Advisory and Coordination team City of Calgary @teresagoldstein who offered to help staff build and package up 85 gifts for our Resident Holiday Party! That's incredible. We are so grateful to have friends like you. Happy Holidays!
richard white Willem Klumpenhouwer Harmony M @teresagoldstein West Hillhurst Community Association Richard, show your work re: Beltline (because I think you just made up some nonsense). Beltline saw a construction boom in the 2010s, and prices went down. They're only now coming back up thanks to net migration.

I think an honest attempt to provide housing at a reduced rents but still make the project viable. True affordable housing is public housing and heavily subsidized.
@teresagoldstein richard white Correct me if i’m wrong, but doesn’t the following table show that we’re actually doing a pretty good job in Calgary at providing homes for upper income households?

Ximena González Some wise words:
“Density needs a mix of housing types (rental and affordable along with market)” so yes it matters what that supply is . And community amenities / benefits need to be guaranteed. @teresagoldstein
SAVE Public UnCalgary Common Sensible Art Lanes Lisa @teresagoldstein Ximena González Co-ops need to be built. Let’s stop being volunteers for rich developers and start helping those short of housing.
Andrew Yule @teresagoldstein Redevelopment and more dense development _should_ be mutually exclusive from intruding on the riparian zone. Personally I am pushing for both. The downside of densitication is it is
@teresagoldstein Frano Ćavar Alex McColl The new communities do not mix high density with detached housing like the dogs breakfast we see happening in communities like Marda Loop. Calgary should offer housing in quiet neigbhourhoods with peaceful streets for people who want that lifestyle choice. #yyccc

Greg Miller @teresagoldstein Loren McGinnis Calgary Eyeopener Just FYI: It's not really a big step at all actually. Permitting rowhousing citywide is the absolute lowest hanging fruit. This type of housing is low density and contextual to established areas.
Jeanie Gartly @teresagoldstein Ximena González Oh my. I hadn't noticed that @teresagoldstein blocked me. I guess she's not much interested in hearing from those who want less topdown, dogmatic planning, whether it's on the job, or on twitter.
