Let's create the most spectacular 100 Kilometre urban nature linear park/trail: THE GREEN LOOP! Doable, in ONE term, costs less than 5% of Tory's failed Rail Deck Park + benefits everyone. ONE_TO, connects suburbs, downtown, main city parks...magnificent 100% off road, 4 seasons!

I’ll never understand why people committed to driving will say anything to make cycling sound impossible. When I drive, I want every other driver to be on a bike instead. If I had to drive all the time, I’d be fighting to get more people on bikes.

Seriously - where do you think all of these cars go? They end up on city streets. The more the region expands, the more congested the city gets. A problem as old as time. This is why sprawl stinks. It requires more highways. Highways act as funnels into urban destinations. And

Check your inbox: it’s @cityhallwatcher #302 Doug Ford says he wants data to justify bike lanes. The good news? We’ve got lots. A detailed look at ridership data, traffic data, and whether it’s true that Toronto gets six months of winter. (It’s not!) toronto.cityhallwatcher.com/p/chw302

Inbox: Group rep'ing merchants in the Bloor-Annex corridor tell Doug Ford that bike lanes help businesses: “Are we building highways or are we building main streets? Because highways don’t encourage main street economic activity.”

WATCH: Seriously, if you’re following ANY bike-lane debate, you HAVE TO WATCH this news story. Politician claims without evidence that bike-lanes are bad for small business, and THE ACTUAL BUSINESS ASSOCIATION obliterates him with data. Great, @citynewsTO. toronto.citynews.ca/video/2024/10/…

This video was filmed during Rush hour in Late October (temperature 8C). Most people who watch it would say it seems like there are more cars than bikes. There are actually exactly 15 bikes and 15 cars, despite bikes being allocated half the space.

Recent study shows that bicycles along Bloor in The Annex account for ~37% of all road traffic during rush hour. #TOpoli #ONpoli #BikeTO bwvra.ca/wp-content/upl…

Years ago, while I was doing consulting work for the City of Sydney, Australia, there was an INFAMOUS day where a particularly bad state minister of transportation was stuck in traffic, and saw bike riders zoom by his limousine in a safe, protected bike-lane. He had a petty

Bloor/Spadina, Nov. 4, 8:34am. Over three minutes I saw 23 vehicles and 25 cyclists, including one parent with baby. The only congestion was caused by a vehicle. Will Doug Ford Prabmeet Sarkaria pass special legislation to take away this person's minivan?

Observing The City (@observinthecity) 's Twitter Profile Photo

MTO staff are against this move and know it won’t solve congestion. This is a political play against all expert advice, even within the government.
