There have been THREE consultations as Tower Hamlets tries to squeeze this through. But now the developers have changed their plans AFTER the third consultation - meaning that the community has not been properly consulted on the final plans. Mayor John Biggs Cllr. Sirajul Islam

The local community is not against a housing development on the London Chest Hospital site. Genuinely affordable housing is needed. But the scale of this is totally inappropriate. A much better development is possible - one that adds to the area, not harms it Tower Hamlets Council

Note how Savills are trying to pressurise and threaten the planning officers at Tower Hamlets Council Council. Imagine the benefits to the borough if the local community had such power over and access to decision makers. Mayor John Biggs Cllr. Sirajul Islam

Save Chest Hospital Mayor John Biggs Cllr. Sirajul Islam Please don't allow Crest Nicholson to cut mature trees across our street on St James' Avenue. Re-planting a few little ones just won't add up - baby trees can't fight climate change or reduce pollution as much as older healthy trees. x.com/DeepsShetty/st…

'Mulberry View' development? where's that then? as opposed to Mulberry Death-by-Crest-Nicholson-Tower-Block development at the old London Chest Hospital in Bethnal Green. Hope Tower Hamlets Council reject the current plans. Save Chest Hospital ピザアキ E E Preservation Soc Spitalfields Life

Ultimately the cttee had to make a legal rather than a political decision using a broken planning framework. But as a local resident I'm really sad to see this outcome
