Look closely and you’ll see a world-class regional rail system in the making…

Frequent Lakeshore trains all run through Union station, dwelling for just 3-5 minutes.

Alongside a timed cross-platform transfer to Barrie trains, cross-city trips are now easier than ever!

Everyone in my family, from my brother to my parents, thought the “1 Line” referred to a quantity, not a name. Anywhere else in the world it would be “Line 1”.

Per Wikipedia, among rail lines numbered 1, Sound Transit stands alone in the world.

2 things:

1) 50k+ people in 70 towers is a good place to put the future interchange between line 2 and line 4. transit meets at hubs.

2) without federal funding for new subway trains, all these people could be waiting every 7, 8, or even 10 minutes for dinky old trains in 2030

The Interborough Express has the potential to transform travel in New York.

To live up to that potential, however, the line requires a short tunnel through All Faiths Cemetery.

NY shouldn't leave the IBX 515 feet from greatness: /1

More Neighbours Toronto(@MoreNeighbours) 's Twitter Profile Photo

The vast majority of Toronto neighbourhoods have fewer people living in them today than in 1971, despite a doubling in overall in population.

Toronto needs to upzone these neighbourhoods to 6-8 storeys, in particular.

i've been closely following the decline of toronto's surface transit service for the past 2 years as part of advocacy work. it is frustrating, and i have *so much* to say.

city hall made policy choices that ensured:
-buses run slower
-are more crowded
-service costs more

I grew around areas of Bologna's postwar peripheries that were in part made of 'towers/slabs in the park' modernist neighbourhoods. None of them was the alienated hellscape it's often described in here. Mostly because they were built as mixed social and private market housing.

We need to start shaming Americans who are sick and don't wear masks. Like you're coughing like hell on this crowded rush hour BART train and you're not wearing a mask? The fucks wrong with you.
