Insurgent feminist Phoolan Devi (1963-2001) was assassinated today in 2001 in Delhi. Phoolan Devi, a Dalit feminist icon, resisted the compounded violence of caste oppression &patriarchy. She was an acting MP at the time of her murder. My feminism shelf holds her in high esteem.
