After reading Nate Silver's article regarding America's probability problem, I have a countered perspective on how I view mass media. I have taken a step back and reflected on how much mass media I have conceived as immediately true, without direct evidence or support. #FoFFall22

A note I took from the reading by Marcus and Duke is that vocabulary and descriptive language enhance a lie and make it more believable. Realizing that these words create excess emotions vying for the statement to be true, I realized how media and cinema enforces this. #FoFFall22

From reading the Ospina and Roser article, I have gained a new perspective on international levels of belief. I did not realize how trust rates differs worldwide; based on factors like cross-country differences, heterogeneity, developed nations, and political systems. #FoFFall22

I was very surprised by the fact in the reading that people are more likely to lie to others when they are speaking to them face to face. I was shocked because I would assume eye to eye contact would create a sense of anxiety, compared to hiding behind a screen. #FoFFall22

From reading the Serota and Levine piece, I was able to further dissect the true meanings of a truth bias in our modern world. While scholars concluded lying is a frequent and normative event, truth bias is an impediment to a person's ability to detect lies. #FoFFall22

Throughout my readings of this week's article, I found it interesting studying how relational, emotional, and psychological measures all intertwine to communities trust of computers; almost more than most people trust others face to face. #FoFFall22
