✈️ I am en route to Sydney & Canberra to spend a couple of weeks in 🇦🇺meeting with those implementing #OPCAT and co-facilitating a training session for the Australian NPM. Really looking forward to it, although if part 1 of these flights is anything to go on, Aus is REALLY FAR!

This was a thorough and comprehensive inspection with Mark Kelly ‘s team at Office of the Inspector of Prisons I was pleased to join. The inspection contributed to a rolling programme of full unannounced inspections undertaken by Office of the Inspector of Prisons and will be published in due course

We have carried out scrutiny on the Mental Health Bill to assess its compatability with international and domestic human rights standards. We are making a number of recommendations to help strengthen the Bill, which will be debated in the House of Commons today ⬇️
