Quite tired of people weaponising blackness in order to essentially terrorise with the threat of police brutality. Everyday there is yet another video of black people suffering in some way at the hands of those who are *paid* to protect us. It is disgusting.

After my thread about race and education the other day, what books would you recommend to help teachers feel more comfortable talking about the topic? #edutwitter #teamenglish @MrPranPatel Casey Bailey The BAMEed Network @unseenflirt Akala Christopher Emdin

It is unacceptable that the PHE review has been delayed again. There is a gross irony in delaying the release of a report into the unequal suffering of the BAME community, on the basis of global events that relate to the suffering of black communities around the world.

Talk on Chat Biology and Chat Physics about hinterland this week. We have lessons 1/2 way thru each KS3 topic dedicated to reading an article/story around the topic Link: bit.ly/2CZ7VL4. They're still a WIP, but lessons are based Alice Visser-Furay 's sample on her site. /1

Iโ€™ve still not taught Othello but definitely taken a lot from Arielle ๐Ÿ‡ฐ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ฏ๐Ÿ‡ฒ on approaching ideas around Blackness and getting the students to think more critically about Shakespeareโ€™s work/intentions. Also, for them to know we have a rich history beyond slavery! โœŠ๐Ÿพ #TENConline

I NEVER in a million years thought Iโ€™d get that call saying Iโ€™d got the highest mark on my MA essay out of our group. Even when I was on the call, it didnโ€™t cross my mind that I was getting the call!! Shocked is an understatement!! ๐Ÿ™ˆ

I tweeted about getting the (joint) highest mark out of my group for my MA essay. Lots of kind people liked that tweet and/ or congratulated me and some were even crazy enough to then follow me ๐Ÿ˜‚ but I think it would be nice to explain why it meant so much. Bear with me...

Iโ€™m writing something about the experiences of women who go into teaching as a second career. If youโ€™d be willing to share your experience with me, Iโ€™d be hugely grateful. WomenEd 10%Braver #DisruptiveWomen Please RT for a larger sample.
