Today we remember John Nicolson, last private owner of Winterbourne who died #onthisday 80 years ago and bequeathed the site to the University.

This rather magnificent stained glass window was made for Humbie Kirk, East Lothian, in the 1850s but removed to a nearby crypt outside during renovations in the 1930s

It was rediscovered in terrible condition, restored and reinstalled on a light box in 2009
