If we want that more people devote their energy to making progress against large global problems, we should make sure that more people know that it is possible to make progress against such problems. ourworldindata.org/a-history-of-g…

Something I've been working on & graphs I can't resist sharing... Post-2008, load-shedding has been instituted nationally for ~5600 hours (~230 days). Accounting for severity of the different stages, the typical household has been without power for ~830 hours (~35 straight days)

Cool new study where entrepreneurs in Kenya were given access to AI mentors. This is different than other studies as the AI was limited to advice, not doing. High performers got a big 20% boost to performance, but low performers took a hit as they could not implement the advice.

I’d like to see more studies of how AI is being used internationally, now that GPT-4 class models are available in 169+ countries (including for free) There is a lot of work in the US & Europe. I have seen 2 nice studies in Africa (teacher & entrepreneur mentoring👇). What else?
