Nice to see Rail Operations Group 47815 passing through Stratford tonight on it's way from Leicester to Ilford. A class 47 is a rare sight at Stratford these days.
A quick spin this morning around the Merseyrail city loop while in Liverpool. Not too long left for the class 507/508 units now, the replacement class 777 units are due in 2020. This is 507031 at Liverpool Central heading for Chester.
My first ride this morning on one of the new Greater Anglia class 755 units. Very nice trains when they’re working.
A spin out to Ebbsfleet this morning on Southeastern High Speed. Due to engineering work there is no service towards Ashford via HS1, this is Javelin 395012 at Ebbsfleet ready to depart for St Pancras unusually from platform 3 which normally only sees departures towards Kent.
A day out in the North West today trying out the new TransPennine Express trains. The extra carriages are very welcome.
Nice to see a new Greater Anglia class 720 train on test near Wickford on the Southend Victoria line today. Hopefully by the time I can get back to commuting they might be closer to entering passenger service.
Former NORTHERN 🚆 321901 recently entered service with Greater Anglia and seen at Liverpool Street this afternoon waiting to work the 1755 Liverpool Street - Southend Victoria. The interior is certainly a bit more colourful than we’re used to.
Nice to see Rail Operations Group 47812 resting at Manningtree just now acting as a ‘Thunderbird’ rescue loco for Greater Anglia. I wonder if the people who built this loco back in the 60s ever imagined it would still be active in 2020.
My first ride on a new Greater Anglia class 720 unit this morning. I have to say, quite nice.
Checks calendar, it is 2022 right? InterCity 87002 and West Coast Railways operated 86259 await departure from London Euston this morning with charter trains. They look absolutely stunning, we’ll done both.
This Network Southeast sign at Barking is now visible again after having been covered up for many years. Hoping c2c Railway make sure it doesn’t end up in a skip!
Great day out at the North Norfolk Rly Mixed Traffic Gala. Well done WY Traction Group for putting on a good show.
First visit to Crewe Heritage Centre Crewe Heritage Centre in a long time, well worth stopping by if you’re in the area.
My first sight of London North Eastern Railway 91127 in it’s new Intercity inspired livery. Looks amazing, we’ll done LNER.
Visit to the Museum of Transport Greater Manchester Greater Manchester museum of transport this morning. Interesting place, well worth visiting if you’re in Manchester.
