If you're still looking for a #NewYearResolution, start getting in the habit of refusing to answer questions from law enforcement and declining to give consent for searches. You'll not only protect yourself, but you'll help everyone else who asserts their rights. #NewYear2023

#NewYearResolution pitch: Resolve to understand that your blind deference to law enforcement in all cases and your dismissal/shaming of those who assert their rights is one of the most dangerous, but inconspicuous threats to your own liberty. #NewYear2023 #ResolutionIdeas

You own this, SCOTUS--you own every single blow rained down on this defenseless child. Maybe stick to interpreting civil right laws instead of judicially amending them to create bogus immunity defenses for brutal thugs like this, waddayathink? #endqualifiedimmunity UnlawfulShield.com

Highlight of the week was being approached by two lads to ask if I had ever played hurling, recruiting for the local GAA. Every club needs a big ginger to be a general disruption on the field 🤙🍀 #StPatricksDay #hurling

/1 Prosecuting Trump represents a challenge that no one’s talking about, which is that unlike most defendants he almost certainly cannot be coerced into pleading guilty. That wouldn’t be such a problem if they had him dead-to-rights on a serious crime like murder. But they don’t.

Constitutional litigation mostly comes down to who bears the burden: the govt to justify its restriction of freedom, or the citizen to justify his/her exercise of freedom. When the govt’s required to offer serious, non-fraudulent reasons for restricting liberty, it usually fails.

In IJ’s unconstitutional traffic stop case in Texas, the officer said he wanted to search our client’s truck as he was acting suspicious. But our client was calm and forthright throughout the entire interaction! So, what will an officer label “suspicious”? A shocking amount:

My third year associate told me they were burnt out today. I noted their concerns and sprayed them down with a hose. Mental health is important here.

After checking my email several times this weekend to make sure I wasn't dreaming, I can officially say I passed the bar! On to the next step! #barexam #attorneys

First day in court as a licensed attorney. Attorney: Your honor, have you met Rory? Judge: Good morning. Me: Good morning, your honor. Judge: *squints* You were the guy in the elevator with cookies this morning. Me: *chuckles* That was me. ... Would you like one, your honor?

If somebody tells you they need absolute immunity from civil liability—even for intentional civil rights violations—they’re telling you exactly who they are and what their vocation has become. And we should listen.
