This month marks one year without money bail in Illinois. Our work continues but we will no longer organize under the Coalition to End Money Bond name. Going forward, all of our work will take place as the Illinois Network for Pretrial Justice. endmoneybond.org/2024/09/03/sun…

@om3 Trinity UCC One year after implementation, the Pretrial Fairness Act has: - Significantly reduced pretrial jailing. - Saved marginalized communities $140 million that would have been spent on money bonds. - Ensured that pretrial hearing are more robust. And that's only the beginning.

Under the money bond system, detention hearings were brief. The Pretrial Fairness is ensuring that hearings are more robust. Loyola Chicago Center for Criminal Justice found the length of detention hearings increased after implementation to a median length of 10–30 minutes.

The last time a majority of whites voted for the democratic nominee for president is the year the Beatles came to America 2020: 57% of white men and 53% of white women voted for Trump. And the person the democratic party will deploy to scold white voters is - who again?

Trump 2024 votes = 72,560,841 (50.9%) Trump 2020 votes = 74,223,369 (46.9%) Right now he has less votes in 24’ than 20’ (but votes are still being counted) So - is the story right now really massive realignment/mandate given Trump likely won’t reach Biden’s record 81M+ votes
