There are lots of harrowing details in the report and tbh I hate reading it; but the treatment of Michele Moore from colleagues at her university - the kindest, warmest, bravest person, who so clearly had children's well-being at heart in every contribution she made, is awful.

When the Supreme Court hands down a judgment it states the law as it is and has always been. There is nothing to rush. If, following this decision, an organisation has unlawful policies, it is no defence to say “oh but we didn’t want to be hasty”. heraldscotland.com/politics/viewp…

There is nothing to rush here. If your policies are compliant with the law as clarified by the Supreme Court ruling then you have nothing to do. If they’re not, then you’re liable right now. You’re either exposed to significant risk for liability or you’re not, right now.

If you’re in the position to consult a lawyer and they tell you to wait until the EHRC guidance has been finalised, fire them. They’re not providing you with legal advice and they’re potentially exposing you to the risk of liability.

Plain language is the bedrock of effective public communication. Irrespective of differing views on sex and gender, if the Scottish, Welsh and UK governments are serious about inclusive communication in service provision, they need to stop using gender identity jargon.

Fostering agencies and social services have failed at the most basic level of child safeguarding. The most vulnerable children in society have been utterly failed by agencies charged with their protection. #StephenIreland
