I try to stay off politics but.... the world is literally on fire, people are dying and wildlife face extinction, and the UK government just announced "At least 100 new North Sea oil and gas drilling licences". I despair. I actually despair.

Revisiting a speech Rt Hon Sir Grant Shapps made at tory conf last year. "We cannot carry on relying as the world has done so many times on hydrocarbons" and said we would be "the first nation to get to incredible green industrial revolution", that net zero 2050 was in "conservative DNA".

Science is very clear. It’s not net zero in 2050 that must be the headline goal, but cutting emissions before then, including 50% cut by 2030. Delaying action deepens peril for our children & grandchildren. Think Libya, Greece, mass migration & all the rest, & on a massive scale.
