It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of Ruth Bourne. Ruth served in the Women’s Royal Naval Service (WRNS) during World War Two and worked as a Bombe operator and checker at Eastcote and Stanmore, both outstations of Bletchley Park, from 1943 to 1945.

RAF Shawbury hosted 96 senior citizens for a Christmas Lunch on 17 December. Veterans from all three services were amongst our guests, showing the connections which the Shropshire Armed Forces Covenant provides. The lunch is kindly funded by the RAF Benevolent Fund RAF Benevolent Fund.

Over the Festive period we are looking back over highlights from the last 12 months at RAF Cosford. Day 5 (May)- May was an important month commemorating VE day and various sporting activities taking place, not to mention Annual Receptions. May was a real mix of events.
