Ruth Asawa, who designed the Campanile's Great Bear Bell, was born Jan. 24, 1926. She spent her teens interned by the government for being Japanese-American, before becoming a noted modernist sculptor. She was a primary advocate for the SF School of the Arts, now named for her.

My brother is in the The New York Times! He has been using his sleep expertise from NASA to help Cal Athletics thrive with The ACC games across the country. Photo from March 2006 when he was one of the Cal Mic Men. That night, he performed "Call on me" with the Cal Dance Team. Go bears! 🐻
