Politicians and pundits need to stop parroting the myth that pay rises are driving inflation. Inflation is soaring amid the longest period of wage stagnation since the Napoleonic wars. According to the IMF, corporate profiteering is the single biggest cause of rising inflation.

People experiencing nightmares & flashbacks related to traumatic experiences, I know how distressing & devastating these symptoms can be. Our hearts go out to you. EMDR & trauma informed care can be helpful unfortunately too many of us don’t have access to these treatments.

Spent the evening with a couple of fellow #nurses. I forget, the depth of our daily grind, the stories we could tell - it's astounding. Nurses are truly incredible and deserve more recognition. When will the gov realise we're an investment, not an expense? Rishi Sunak #RCN

The UK mortgage time bomb numbers are bad enough as they are, but they get really sickening when you think of them as an effective pay cut. An increase of £500 in monthly payments (coming to 1m households by 2026) is £6,000 per year, which equates to about a *£10,000 pay cut*

Change the narrative from 'pay rise' to the reality. Nurses were given a pay decrease in real terms. With the recent announcement of public sector pay reductions, it's clear that nurses have experienced the largest salary cut among all public sector professions Steve Barclay
