So in the short term, the right to abortion in FL is gone. The 6 week ban will go into effect in 30 days. Then voters will decide whether to restore reproductive rights. But that won't be the end.

Honored to have played a role in helping to protect children and their families in Michigan.

Michigan will soon have up-to-date and inclusive parentage rules for children born through IVF and other forms through assisted reproduction.

NEW: The Florida Supreme Court simultaneously UPHOLDS the state's 15-week abortion ban (which lets the six-week ban take effect, too)—but also APPROVES a ballot initiative that would amend the FL constitution to protect abortion.

It's not every day that the Supreme Court considers the U.S. FDA's authority, particularly in a high-profile case like this. I was part of a group of FDA scholars to file amicus briefs at the district, circuit, and SCOTUS levels. So here to share some thoughts about oral args. 1/

It is *so* taxing. We've been doing this for over three years now. I've done eight egg retrieval cycles. I've done two separate embryo transfers. I have now probably injected myself with fertility meds hundreds and hundreds of times.

Before egg retrieval cycles I'd start 1/x

This is the fix dems wrote?? This sounds like a Republican fix: save IVF at the expense of all other pregnant people. I know it's Alabama, but come on...

Such a great op-ed Mary Ziegler Sonia Suter Naomi Cahn ! It's a false choice: 'it seems perverse to choose between a punitive vision of fetal rights and restitution for those grieving the loss of potential parenthood. There are remedies that don’t go all the way to personhood.'
