Bitcoin was in theory supposed to be priced at the kWh cost of mining a single Bitcoin, but it’s entirely speculative value applied upward market pressure on everything in its periphery: silicon, gpus, energy. Whilst producing nothing of value from its inputs.

LANCET STUDY: No worries. We know COVID spreads (droplet to airborne) in a spectrum Solution: Buy two N95 or KN95 masks. Use one today; leave the other in a PAPER bag for tomorrow. Keep alternating every 24 hours. Reuse for weeks if they aren’t damaged Ditch cloth masks

Lancet study: “Airborne” does NOT mean outside air is contaminated. It means the virus may remain suspended in the air — typically in indoor settings —and pose a risk Our parks and beaches are still the safest places to enjoy without a mask (provided 6 ft distance)

🇺🇸 is currently sitting on over 100 million unused vaccine doses. An estimated 35-40m are #AstraZeneca, which 🇺🇸 still hasn't authorised to use on Americans and probably never will. It is an absurd situation while half of all doses made in 🇪🇺 are exported (chart Jacob F Kirkegaard).

France: Stand by India Russia: offers oxygen and Remdesivir; import to begin soon China: Ready to provide any help (Yes, even China) Pakistani civil society & orgs: should extend any sort of help America: *Remove export ban pls?* "We will have to circle back to you on that"

On India and the export ban, State Dept punts to USTR, says "we have a special responsibility to the American people." Yes you do. We're not suggesting trading US lives for Indian lives. We're talking materials we don't need b/c we're adequately supplied. This is a crap answer.

The current public health crisis in India is devastating. To turn the tide, India urgently needs vaccines. Arvind Gupta, Rudra Chaudhuri, Harsh Pant, Reuben Abraham & Nitin Pai call upon the Biden administration to consider exceptions to the DPA and help India save lives: ceip.org/p-84392

From the time of its Independence India despite limited resources has always done heavy lifting in helping with international humanitarian crises be it through UN peacekeepers, help during Indian Ocean Tsunami, aid, #VaccineMaitri etc. The west & the world must help India now.
