In the 19th century Thomas Stevens developed woven silk pictures known as ‘Stevengraphs’. They were made in England and sold as souvenirs. This one, probably from the 1890s, shows Scotland’s Forth Bridge. V&A Britain galleries, room 122C

Keep seeing posts about immigrants who are surgeons or highly qualified consultants in our NHS etc, & how great they are. Of course they are & I know these are well intentioned. But immigrants shouldn’t need to be brain surgeons to be a valued and treated with basic humanity.
