Visited the University of Leeds a few days back to present my paper at the BASAS conference. Thanks to Prof. Andrea Major for being a wonderful chair to our panel on Cinema, Theatre and Politics. Look forward to doing this again! 😋

Can't get more meta than this. A reaction video to reaction videos, a re-edit of a remix of an old Indian government film. Ritika Kaushik shows how video essays (of all varieties) can keep images in the public eye but can also hide some aspects from view. vimeo.com/814097498

This is what exciting days are made of- eureka moments at the archive, pickle advertisements in old film magazines and a clear blue sky

Took my daughter to the library at USyd yesterday. Marvelling at the endless books, she danced through the stacks, threw open her arms and declared, "I'm in heaven". A reminder of how universities are meant to make us feel.

After a month suffering excruciating pain & multiple trips to hospital, I’ve been informed that the neurological condition preventing blood flow to my brain may have been caused by my IUD. It’s astounding that contraceptives for women can be lethal & these dangers are downplayed.

I love starting books/theses/articles with the acknowldegement bits. It's nice to be reminded that academic work is a labour of love. Of the author, yes but especially of the village that painstakingly nurtured (the author & their work).
