The playing of JPtheGriot, as leader or sideman, is so consistently brilliant. Among the finest trumpet players today. Eclectic, melodic, dynamic, uplifting, artistic—you name it. You cannot go wrong with his music.

JPtheGriot I have to say, my favorite live jazz album of ALL time, personally, is Noir en Rouge (Live in Paris) - Man, I listened to that thing over 1000 times, maybe more.

Incredible documentation of the scene... Trumpeter Jeremy Pelt is publishing/anthologizing his interviews with dozens of great NY musicians. I own Volume 1 of 'Griot'... and had no idea he's now up to Volume 4.
