I’m at @londonwaterloo to observe genuinely extraordinary scenes tonight as 6,000 armed forces staff arrive for #Coronation rehearsal. Scenes not seen for a generation and EXACTLY reflect Helen Mckie’s 1948 famous ‘War & Peace’ paintings pair. Some kind of glorious coincidence?🤔

Absolutely extraordinary effort from Network Rail Western colleagues to get the line between Didcot & Oxford open as Nuneham Viaduct is now open for traffic. A special timetable will be in place before normal working full resumes, including all the diverted freight 👏 👏 👏

We all come to forks in the road and this is a big one for me. This decision has been crystallising slowly since February and now is the right time for me to slip out of the RAIL driver’s seat. This announcement was circulated to my Bauer colleagues earlier today.

After almost 8 wonderful years, I have decided to leave RAIL. It is an enormous privilege to work with such talented colleagues and to have been part of this incredible industry. But the time is right to move on and embrace new challenges and opportunities. My last day is Oct 13.

End of an era as yesterday was my last ever day with RAIL. I have been blessed to work with some wonderful people but none more so than Stefanie Foster and Ellie Johnson. New adventures now await for all of us.
