Those choosing (and for many/most, it IS a specific choice) to live in the suburbs are NOT entitled to free-flow car traffic capacity (aka an “easy commute”) into the city at the expense of the taxes, health, safety & quality of life of city-dwellers. HT Ian Lockwood PE’s cartoon

BIG, BREAKING NEWS for the City of Toronto! One of the world’s most respected & passionate champions for the city — for EVERY city — is running for MAYOR! I’ve known Gil for a long time and there are few people as authentic & energetic in their fight for better cities for people.

Concerned about safety on streets for all users? Want to fight climate change? Want to reduce traffic congestion? Guess what global research suggests is the answer?

Reaching the start of Bloor bike lane at Runnymede always feels like meeting an old friend, esp after cycling the perilous stretch from Kipling eastbound. Let’s finish the job of making Bloor safe for everyone! @TO_Cycling Mark Grimes Amber Morley #bikeTO

Robin Richardson she/her 🚲 Spicy Garage 𝚂𝚎á𝚗 𝙾’𝚂𝚑𝚎𝚊 Global News Reminds me of American political scientist (can’t remember name) who said conservatives want to create in-groups (i.e. motorists) whom the law protects but does not bind and out-groups (i.e. cyclists or pedestrians) whom the law binds but does not protect.

Siri Agrell is challenging Gord Perks for City Council in Ward 4. We want to show her some cycling hot spots in the ward, so we've organized a ride Sunday, Sept 4 at 6 PM from Parkdale Library. vote4siri.ca/event/parkdale… Here is rough map of the route. Come and join us!

If you'd like to take part, join our small group ride on Sun Dec. 18 at 12:30 p.m. at the eastern end of Neil McLellan Park (across from Runneymede subway station entrance). We'll roll along the Bloor bike lane and meet/join the Good Cheer Ride at Yonge/Bloor, then to City Hall.

Parkdale High Park Bikes (@parkhpbikes) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Re-upping this👇: all systems go for the Cycling Good Cheer west-end "feeder ride" Sunday Dec 18. Bloor bike lanes are clear and (mostly) dry. We'll meet at Neil McLellan Park at 12:30, head east on Bloor a few minutes later. See you then and there.
