Next step in improving my Rancilio Silvia: I've put the OLED screen in a small 3D printed casing on the front of the machine and implemented simple on/off control using a relay switching the heater. Overshoot is about 10 deg, about 15 deg less than with the original thermostat.

I finalised my Rancilio Silvia upgrade project today. The external prototype control box is gone, everything is integrated in the machine now. It features a better thermostat, temp display on a small OLED display and via MQTT, shot timer, etc. Quite happy with how it turned out.

#Artemis1 uses CCSDS AOS (v2) frames, spacecraft ID is 0x14 and this matches SANA registry: sanaregistry.org/r/spacecraftid… This confirms the signal on 2216.5MHz is really coming from #Artemis1. Fill frames are sent on VC 63 filled with counting up bytes (no ASCII messages this time☹️).

This confirms the signal on 2216.5MHz is really coming from #Artemis1.

I converted my QO-100 setup to use an external 12 volt supply instead of PoE so I can power it with a battery and use it portable in the upcoming JOTA-JOTI weekend. I plan to operate from two local scouting groups on saturday. I will test the complete setup on QO-100 tonight.
