I’d choose D largely for non-golf reasons, but you can make a great case for C, D or H. C has the best stretch of golf in the US (Long Island), arguably the greatest course in the world (Pine Valley), and historic major championship venues (Oakmont, Merion, Winged Foot, etc). D

Abolish stamp on equity trading. Cut corp tax for first few years after listing. Cut CGT on sale of founder stakes at IPO. Mandate Brit ISA plus 20% of pension equity allocation to UK. And do it VERY FAST. Politicians do not seem to grasp that time is running out.

FYI, here are some updated charts showing the relative performance of the UK economy since the vote to leave the EU in 2016... 🤓 (links to original data sources in final post) 1⃣ change in headline GDP since Q2 2016 (the most flattering, though boosted by population growth)

So true. Walked up to Camden tonight from the House of Commons..the Christmas lights, shoppers in Seven Dials, the quiet of Bloomsbury’s squares, Soul II Soul in concert at Koko. No city in the world like it

If Keir Starmer resigned, Britain would have its 5th (!) Prime Minister since late 2022 — while Italy has had just one in the same period. What a time to be alive.

Pleased to be rejoining the civil service as Investment and AI adviser in DSIT. As an exited founder and angel investor in over a hundred startups I’m hopeful I can help make Britain the place for tech and AI. It’s a part time role as I will still be carrying on my work at Oxford
