The amount of $$$ coming from the Fed Gov’t to schools is unprecedented! Parents MUST be informed & engaged in how these dollars are spent. We’ve got to hold our districts accountable. Use these funds to put students’ needs FIRST ⁦@OpenSchoolsCA⁩ edsource.org/2021/californi…

"We now know that a distance of six feet is not significantly safer than three feet, & we know that six feet keeps kids out of school unnecessarily." Must read OpEd from the authors of the recent, peer-reviewed study showing 3-ft is safe. washingtonpost.com/outlook/2021/0…

Fixing every problem that ever existed in education should not be preventing us from opening schools now. Use simple mitigations that have proven successful all over the world. Vaccinate teachers. Get kids back in school. Today. Tomorrow, we resume the fight for wider reforms.

Five hours per week is simply unacceptable. We continue to ask ousdnews to please bring students back five days per week and to expand in-person to additional grades. Neighboring districts offer more, we should, too. #OpenSchools OUSD Parents for Transparency & Safe Reopening

I’ve been lamenting just five hours on campus, but sadly reading this I realize how much better off my kids will be than others in OUSD. It’s pathetic this is the state of things when other districts have proven it’s safe to teach in person. Sad for kids who can’t go back 3/30.
