This week it's #NationalMammalWeek2022 and this year’s theme is ‘recording mammals around you’. You can help record mammals by reporting dead otters to the relevant organisation (see graphic) and they will organise for it to be sent to us. Check out Mammal Society for more info!
Do you have experience as an #otter surveyor?
Volunteers are needed to help conduct surveys for the 6th National Otter Survey of England.
To find out more and get involved, head over to Mammal Society's website: bit.ly/3x6yFD7

Great seeing all the cool otter work going on with the Otter Project in Cardiff! So much being covered, from population/distribution trends, pollution to genomics! Thanks to the Mammal Society for hosting! #WorldOtterDay Dr Eleanor Kean Frank H
Thanks Mammal Society for hosting us to chat all things otter! 🦦 Was great to share the work and research of Otter Project. Big thanks if you joined us, happy to answer any further Qs.

Happy #WorldOtterDay !
Did you know there are 13 species of otter across the world? Our #research on the Eurasian otter (Lutra lutra) in Britain is part of a much broader picture in #otter #conservation .
We hope you appreciate these magnificent #mammals as much as we do.
Today is #WorldOtterDay 🦦
The UK is home to the Eurasian Otter! Fun fact, although otters are very good swimmers they can't hold their breath for very long. Their average dive is about 30 seconds ⏱

It's #WorldWildlifeDay2022 !
The theme this year is recovering key species. Have a look below at how UK otters have recovered since their population crashed in the 1970s.

It's #WorldWildlifeDay today 🐾
Did you know 1 in 4 of Britain's native mammals are threatened with extinction 😰
Thanks to your support we're helping change this 💚

Great couple of days attending the Environment Agency PhD Knowledge Exchange Conference. Enjoyed having the opportunity to discuss our paper on #PFAS (tinyurl.com/mrxtty2k), and my #collaboration with the Environment Agency who have enabled the funding to further this research
Otters can tell us what chemicals are in our waterways... our drinking water supply.
Great to write this piece for Mammal Society and Mammal Society Students about my PhD and #PFAS pollution.
