Here are some reflections on the recent seismic shift in the conversations around PFAS uses. It’s looking optimistic, but more work is still needed. The discussion is now very much about fluoropolymers and F-gases.

The French National Assembly has voted to ban #PFAS in clothing for the general public, cosmetics and ski waxes by 2026 and in all textiles by 2030. However, cookware was dropped. Ironically, the fluoropolymer industry doesn't care so much about the low tonnage consumer uses.

A study published in Science Advances reveals that #PFAS re-emit into the air from crashing ocean waves at levels comparable to or greater than other sources, establishing a cyclical transport process for these 'forever chemicals' between land and sea. science.org/doi/10.1126/sc…
