Update: the whale is a 12-13m long sei whale. MAST will go ahead with a rescue attempt tonight at high tide if the whale remains in stable condition. It is currently being closely monitored and kept wet. (Photos via RÚV / Benedikt Sigurðsson)

I very much dislike how we’ve come to associate deers and other cervids with hunting and taxidermy When in reality deers themselves are a really majestic and diverse group of ungulates (in the past and present)! 🦌
