When we teach the @OptiBreech physiological breech birth course, I am struck by how many obstetric colleagues come up to me in the break to express their sheer relief. Their instincts have been telling them, Put your hands on, Help the baby ...

In the absence of any evidence that supine / 'Hands off the breech' dogma improves outcomes, guidance needs to change. @OptiBreech methods need to be tested in a substantive clinical trial. Here's how you can help ensure this happens: optibreech.uk/2024/01/22/opt…

Dr Shawn Walker The OptiBreech Trial When I found out at 36 weeks that my baby was foot down I had to do a crash course in breech (my first baby came at 37 weeks). I managed to learn enough to ask my consultant specifically about this. He was amazing and I delivered her vaginally at 38 weeks with his hands on help!

Thank you for this important work Chandrima Biswas ! So glad you have brought Concord Neonatal to the UK. Our The OptiBreech Trial collaborative also sees the benefits for vaginally-born breech babies of all gestations in our data! Should be a part of routine management.

When breech births go wrong, the focus needs to be on what the evidence says will truly improve safety outcomes, not sensationalised 'us versus them' thinking. Please share with colleagues and networks. breechbirth.org.uk/2024/04/14/avo… The OptiBreech Trial
