The maternity system is broken. The health inequalities, conditions and complications that disproportionately affect Black women & birthing people must be recognised, if we're to create a legacy of care that's safe for everyone.

Different birthing positions significantly affect interface pressure, influencing maternal comfort and labour dynamics.

This study highlights the importance of re-evaluating traditional birthing positions to enhance maternal outcomes and comfort.

Much as maternity assistants are a valued part of the team, interesting to see that their staffing levels are not (at least in this case) associated with patient safety. Food for thought as funding increasingly dictates skill mix. There's no substitute for a skilled #midwife .

Birthing should be a blissful experience for every mother. We need to advocate for safe maternal healthcare practices and eliminate discrimination.
