My wife and I had a great time last night at the Omaha Police Ball benefitting Special Olympics Nebraska

Just finished my annual Omaha Police Dept Strong fitness assessment. Vertical jump, situps, 300m sprint, push-ups, 1.5mile run or 2000m row. I scored in the Superior category for my age bracket, which earns me some extra time off. Great program helping cops stay motivated and healthy.

I had the opportunity to attend the FBI-LEEDA Managing and Conducting Internal Affairs Investigations course last week, hosted by MARSHALLTOWN IOWA POLICE DEPARTMENT. Excellent instructors and great discussions from peers from several agencies as well. Great learning and networking.

I had a great time at the DLG Use of Force Summit this week. Great presentations and information on best practices and legal precedents on police use of force application and investigation.

I’m doing a ride along to today with Sgt Tony Conner Nebraska FOP President. As the Lt of Omaha Police Dept Internal Affairs I think it is critical to have a feel for what things are like for the officers actually working the streets when I make recommendations on policy allegations.

Day 2 of some great training with FBI-LEEDA . Thank you La Vista Police for hosting this class and Omaha Police Dept command for allowing me and the Internal Affairs Sergeants to attend. Never stop learning and growing.
