I am saddened about the floods in eastern Afghanistan. My condolences go out to the children and communities affected by yet another extreme weather event. UNICEF Afghanistan is on the ground distributing pre-positioned #supplies & supporting #healthcare through our partners.

Fawzia, 10, now has a 💧 tap at home. She used to waste mornings fetching water, but now attends class on time. UNICEF built 18 new water taps like Fawzia's thanks to KSrelief funding through the Afghanistan Humanitarian Trust Fund facilitated by IsDB Group and OIC.

UNICEF has supported education of over 360,000 girls through 18,000 community-based learning classes.

After the 2023 earthquake in western Afghanistan, UNICEF and partners stepped in to help the community rebuild. The kids are now thriving and taking life forward. The community is resilient and the shock has worn off. And the next steps will be theirs to celebrate!

Last week I was in Afghanistan and witnessed the return of Afghans from Iran. Among them were children on their own with no place to go. Please listen and help us support them - more are arriving every day.
