There's lots of pretty little buildings in Morden Hall Park, but perhaps my favourite is this little cottage with a big chimney. It's rather charmingly referred to as ‘The Bothy’ and was used to house the more lowly estate workers. Does anyone else know any more about it?

October 1960: Southern Region 'H' class 0-4-4T No. 31551 waits patiently for the road at Paddock Wood, with a Hawkhurst branch train in the bleak dampness of a typical Kent Autumn. This lovely little branch line closed on 12 June 1961

Hello TopTweetTuesday & esteemed host Jen Feroze 💙 Here's a poem about a scruffy, little local wood - grown up in the middle of a street where pre-fabs used to stand.

Having a quick scan through the proofs of Southern Way No 65, out in May. Lots of good stuff as always including a feature on SR locos sold to minor lines. Former LBSCR Terrier No 643 was acquired by the Weston, Clevedon & Portishead in 1925, eventually passing to the GWR in 1940

I'm feeling a bit sad today. I'd hoped we might be able to help rescue this lovely old place in Crowland (Lincs) but it's now clear that's not going to work. I envy whoever ends up with it. I don't think I've ever spent time in a more fascinating or hugely special house.
