If the Conservative Parliamentary Party includes MPs who are more comfortable with Labour ideology than conservatism - as it very obviously does - then they should be in the Labour Party. Personally, to be honest, I would also prefer they *were* on Labour benches rather than…

BBC R4 news just said King Charles is 'celebrating his first anniversary as monarch'. Err....no. He's been King since Sept 2022. It's just the first anniversary of the Coronation. Poor.

Even though we could argue that Boris is, in fact, wet, he was framed as hard right by the media, and fought the election on getting Brexit done which was seen as borderline fascist by the centre, so the point still stands.

The Conservative Party itself is a coalition of chaos. Incoherent, opportunist splicing together of people who believe opposite things to each other on most major issues. Result is unpredictable learner driving: bunny-hopping along the road, 18-point turns, dented lamposts etc.

Laws can be changed, courts can be convened, immigration controls can be implemented, economic booms can be unleashed, housing can be built and spaceships can travel to Mars.

Nothing is static. Nothing is lost. Everything can change.

Aggregate Result in the 197 Wards where all 5 Major Parties Stood:

🌹 LAB: 35.7%
🌳 CON: 22.9%
🔶 LDM: 13.8%

Looks like the Reform polling numbers are real, even if they can't convert it into seats.

Followers of belief system Islam have - as a cohort - among the lowest rates of labour market participation of any faith or identity group. A clear negative outlier. OTOH, it is also right to say that most Muslims do work.

Pining for a centre that is no longer there I am afraid - and it hasn’t been there in the conventional for quite some time. Majorities in Western societies are now and for the foreseeable future, also going to be found at either end of the polarisation
