On this day in 1795, nearly a month after the university opened, Hinton James arrived in Chapel Hill and became the first student at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

The Order of the Bell Tower traditionally oversee the annual relighting of the Bell Tower on the night before fall FDOC. While this semester will be anything but ordinary, they wanted Tar Heels everywhere to enjoy this virtual relighting, set to the sounds of our alma mater 🎵💙 #UNC
