Most of NSTR lies in dry deciduous region and is really tough for wild animals during the summers. These water bodies, constructed by NSTR team, are much needed lifelines during summers. Seeing them full of water during monsoon is a joy in itself.National Tiger Conservation Authority Pawan Kalyan MoEF&CC

There's a dire need to sing praises and appreciation of these kinds of eco-warriors who silently toil and sacrifice for the forest and wildlife with no expectation of name or fame.

Sambhar deers are the primary prey species of tigers. They are the largest deer species in Asia. They usually stay in small herds and prefer forested and hilly areas. Poaching for meat is one of the key threats. Any leads to forest department with respect to poaching is welcome.

This is truly a reckless and abominable behavior. Driving, coursing, baiting any Schedule 1 animal and any attempt to do so is also seen as hunting under the stringent provisions of Wildlife Protection Act, 1972 and is punishable with imprisonment ranging from 3 years to 7 years.

He went on night patrol to protect wildlife… and never returned. 💔 Sri Katravath Lakshma Naik, Protection Watcher, working in NSTR, lost his life after being electrocuted by a live wire trap meant for poaching. Our forest staff risk everything so the wild can live. 🌿🙏
