Empowering women, transforming communities! Today, on International Women's Day, I was excited to join women in Axim to commission an FAO-funded modern fish processing center. This initiative will uplift and support the remarkable women fish processors and drive economic growth.

Yesterday, I visited the Youth Summit Association, an innovative aquaculture farm in Sowodadzem, near Half Assini in the Jomoro constituency in the Western Region. I had the opportunity to engage with the association members and gain insight into the challenges [1/2]

they face accessing fish feed, fingerlings, and training in post-harvest handling and packaging. I assured them of our government's commitment to supporting the development of aquaculture and addressing these concerns to enhance productivity and sustainability [2/2].

I had a great meeting with Hon. Emmanuel Kwasi Drah, MP for Upper West Akim, to explore development initiatives in his constituency. We discussed leveraging the area's vast lands and water bodies for aquaculture, despite being a non-coastal region.

I met with the Korean Ambassador to Ghana, H.E. Park Kyongsig, to discuss ways to strengthen our fisheries partnership. We also discussed training programs and utilizing the Ghana Maritime University. I look forward to continued collaboration.

I had a productive meeting Morocco's Ambassador to Ghana, Mrs. Imane Ouaadil, as we explored opportunities for job creation, economic development, and sustainable growth, marking another step in deepening Ghana-Morocco ties in agriculture and fisheries.

This week we have been with Ghana Education News in Doblo Gonno, Assin Fosu and Shama supporting basic schools to develop School Improvement Plans using an approach called 'Managing for Learning' involving parents, learners, management, teachers and community members in co-design.
