Lately it feels like most art scenes aren't real anymore. Not because people don't care, but because everyone's pretending just long enough to benefit. The world taught artists to network instead of connect, to leverage people instead of love them.

Art was never designed to survive in that system. It doesn’t run on ROI, it runs on revelation. An artist feels first, not strategizes. But when you start treating every interaction like a play, the raw curiosity that makes art possible begins to rot.

Networking sees a person as a means. Connection sees them as a mirror.
