NOW: New Mexico Indigenous leaders living w/ frontline impacts of fossil fuel buildout have come to NYC, where Blackstone finances dangerous hydrogen + carbon offset schemes. We can’t afford deadly false solutions — we must #EndFossilFuels w/ a just transition. #ClimateShutDown

After all that’s happened, Rio Arriba County Commissioner Alex Naranjo (who was indicted for lying under oath this year) plans to continue forward with the statue’s installation. It’s worth noting that the over $100,000 statue was originally commissioned by Naranjo’s uncle.

Kind of cool to see this take off, but the bots, blue checkmarks, and pseudonymous denier accounts are all out in full force. I wonder if they're on Exxon's payroll?

The LNG buildout “is a method to short-circuit the transition to renewable energy and instead install our reliance on fossil fuels for decades to come,” Bill McKibben in Bloomberg bloomberg.com/news/articles/…

So...this happened. It's been, shall we say, quite an experience. There's lots I could say about this but the first I'll mention is that I believe in intellectual integrity in a world when a lot of people clearly do not (or at least their actions suggest that they do not).

The fossil fuel industry is trying to use the war in Ukraine to justify a huge expansion of LNG exports — in reality, European demand dropping and the world is moving to clean energy. theguardian.com/commentisfree/…

Good news for Biden if he chooses to act on LNG: Voters overwhelmingly support limiting LNG exports by a 2-1 margin. This is sound policy and smart politics.

Matthew Yglesias Lori Lodes The analysis by Jeremy Symons that shows that most of this gas was destined for places where it would undercut renewables, not coal. If you want to transition away from fossil fuel (as the world pledged in Dubai), you actually have to transition away from fossil fuel

Shout out to Jim Acosta and CNN for having on Roishetta Ozane, whose community is directly impacted by LNG export facilities and helped lead the #StopLNG fight to get Biden to take action. Not enough media outlets make the effort to hear directly from the frontlines.

Every day I see stories about how badly EVs are suffering and how the market is ‘cooling’ I’ve ‘never’ read a piece about the fact ICE sales peaked and have *declined 7 straight years* Weird 😏

This is a big freaking deal: The EPA’s new soot pollution standard is expected to save an estimated 4,500 lives and deliver $46 billion in health benefits in 2032. Good work U.S. EPA, President Donald J. Trump, and Michael S. Regan. Keep it coming! #SolutionsForPollution

Senator Brandt out on the Senate floor saying he’s not able to afford an #ElectricVehicle. Good sir, how much did your Dodge Hemi 1500 Longhorn cost? EVs save money on gas too, in case the Senator was looking for more ways to save money. 💅 #nmpol #nmleg

The City of Albuquerque is launching its own mini rideshare service, just like Uber and Lyft, except this service is free. For now, ABQ RIDE Connect will be limited to the areas that need it most. kob.com/new-mexico/abq…
