A1: We have student teachers come into our schools and keep them abreast of openings. We also have placed an emphasis on supporting paraprofessionals and parents to become certified teachers as a part of our Five-Year Strategic Plan. #satchat

A1.1 - we have also been approved by the NJDoE to hire retired teachers. So far we have hired 2 for needed vacancies. We are still looking for: MS ELA teacher HS Chemistry teacher Know anyone???? 😀 #satchat

A3: Aspiring educators are interviewing us just as much as we are interviewing them. We must showcase our very best when meeting with candidates. It’s important to highlight the school’s culture, support systems, & opportunities for growth as well. #satchat

I can’t emphasize how important it is to ask students/kids and adults every day.

A3: Refitting and retooling your staff. Promote lifelong learning and pathways to advancement therefore reducing teacher turnover. This could also include meaningful conversations with staff throughout the year asking them about their career goals. #satchat

A2. Effective school leadership is someone who is able to confidently respond in the moment to say “we don’t do that here or that’s not ok” to the student or colleague. #satchat

A3: Effective District Leadership is when admin are visible and present in the moment and follow through on their promises. Furthermore, there are able to put effective systems and structures in place to ensure rational decision making at all levels. #satchat

A2: Great educators spark student creativity and innovation by understanding the whole student and putting them in situations where they can take risk and think outside the box. #satchat
