Some of the wildlife seen on our wander around Somersham yesterday. So many skylarks singing in the fields, but it's great to capture one on the ground close by. One of five distant hares in the same field. Cambs Bird Club Our St Ives
Fragrant cherry and crab apple blossom humming with insects and blue skies. Who can ask for more? Well, lots of frothy hawthorn too this morning at Over Cambs - always reminds me of Hockney's paintings. #treeflowers wildflowerhour BSBI: Botanical Society of Britain & Ireland

For me, one of the best views of a parish church in Cambridgeshire - Bluntisham's St Mary's Church, seen from across Berry Fen. A timeless fenland view. #churchnearyou A Bit About Britain π¬π§ πΊπ¦
More butterfly firsts for '24: a wonderfully scallopped comma and several speckled woods RSPB Hope Farm, which is always a great place to see a range of butterflies. Also, peacocks, small whites, and lots of cowslips. Lovely. BC Cambs and Essex
Birds singing in hedgerows and copses all around RSPB Fen Drayton this morning, including this beautiful song thrush. Barnacle goose still with flock of Canada geese across the Ouse. Lovely bank of spotted dead nettles too. Cambs Bird Club wildflowerhour
Superb Fenland sky at RSPB Ouse Fen today. Lots of birds heard but not seen, including at least three blackcaps. First butterfly pic of '24 and beautiful cherry blossom in Over churchyard. Lovely. BC Cambs and Essex Cambs Bird Club RSPB
#WoodlandPlants seen this week, mostly in Brampton Wood Cambs The Wildlife Trust for Beds, Cambs & Northants - including a single bluebell promising more to come. Also, I really like the colour of the elm tree 'flowers', and it's great to see them growing on the edge of the wood wildflowerhour BSBI: Botanical Society of Britain & Ireland
Really enjoyable stroll around Coton Nature reserve this morning and the village. So pleased to find St Peter's Church open with its Norman windows and 12th century font - all dressed beautifully for Easter. #achurchnearyou Cambridge Past, Present & Future
No rarities (although not sure of the tree with the frothy blossom - #wildflowerID ) but some lovely #whiteflowers this morning in the (nearly) spring sunshine along the Washes at Earith Cambridgeshire. wildflowerhour BSBI: Botanical Society of Britain & Ireland
Here's #sevenonSunday from my little St Ives garden. I really like the peachy yellow tulips but have forgotten their name, so resolution is to start putting labels in the pots - to that end just bought some wooden ones!
Lovely variety of birds seen along the Washes walking from Earith this morning: sole Egytian Goose gosling is our first chick of the year. Large group of godwits again - first resting then feeding on our return. Cambs Bird Club
