Some of the wildlife seen on our wander around Somersham yesterday. So many skylarks singing in the fields, but it's great to capture one on the ground close by. One of five distant hares in the same field. Cambs Bird Club Our St Ives

Fragrant cherry and crab apple blossom humming with insects and blue skies. Who can ask for more? Well, lots of frothy hawthorn too this morning at Over Cambs - always reminds me of Hockney's paintings. wildflowerhour BSBI: Botanical Society of Britain & Ireland

Wonderful spring soundtrack as we walked around RSPB Ouse Fen (Over) today. First time hearing - if not seeing - so many warblers in the reeds. Booming bitterns too. Superb! Cambs Bird Club

More waders this morning RSPB Berry Fen, including a striking pair of oyster catchers - their red eyes are incredible. Pair of coots have chosen some very noisy neighbours on the Barleycroft Lake. Cambs Bird Club

Despite the blustery conditions, lower water levels meant excellent views of the beautiful russet godwits(100+) RSPB Ferry Mere, Fen Drayton today. A pair of redshanks with the group too. Cambs Bird Club

More butterfly firsts for '24: a wonderfully scallopped comma and several speckled woods RSPB Hope Farm, which is always a great place to see a range of butterflies. Also, peacocks, small whites, and lots of cowslips. Lovely. BC Cambs and Essex

Bitterns are booming back! πŸŽ‰

With numbers of booming males on the rise, thanks to dedicated efforts across our reserves, these secretive birds are making an incredible recovery.

It's fantastic news for nature πŸ‘‡

Is this a barnacle goose on the riverbank at RSPB Fen Drayton this morning? Only seen them once before at Minsmere, so this is a first locally for us if it is. Also, lovely views of elegant egrets all around the lakes today.Cambs Bird Club RSPB

Really enjoyable stroll around Coton Nature reserve this morning and the village. So pleased to find St Peter's Church open with its Norman windows and 12th century font - all dressed beautifully for Easter. Cambridge Past, Present & Future

Another set of exciting artefacts from Must Farm are its collection of beads made from glass, amber, shale, siltstone, faience and tin. Analysis of the glass beads has shown that all but one of the 49 found may have been made over 4,500km away from the site.

Here's from my little St Ives garden. I really like the peachy yellow tulips but have forgotten their name, so resolution is to start putting labels in the pots - to that end just bought some wooden ones!
